I carried this bag in my pack for 12.6 miles on the AT in early December. It rained the last 2 hours. We camped in a shelter and set up a tent in the shelter. There were 3 humans and 1 dog in the tent. The temperature was in the mid 30's. I used a 3.9 thermarest pad as well. I also used 4 handwarmers in the bag. The sleeping bag had plenty of room. I was surprised how cool it felt. I think it was because the material is smooth and there is room. I used my jacket as a blanket inside for more warmth. I'm female, 65, 5'4', 150 lbs. I'm looking forward to using it with a hammock in warmer weather.

Too Dang Hot
I bought the 0 degree Antero and slept in it on a 34F night. I ended up shirtless for a while until my hammock was quite wet with sweat. My wife used it on a warmer night and loved it. IT's hers now and I have ordered myself the 15 degree version. I was a little concerned with the method to hold the bag in place around the hammock, but it works well with no slipping. As for the smell that I have read about in other reviews, the first night in it I did notice a slight odor. However, it came out of the box and the stuff sack and went straight on my hammock a few hours before I got in it. After letting it air out for a week, there seems to no longer be any odor.

I love it
I haven’t gotten to use this in real cold weather yet, but so far I love this bag. It doesn’t cover the entire hammock on real long hammocks, but it stays closed up tight in the holes on the enda. I’ve been completely warm with it mostly open... 50’s and 60’s degree weather. I’m ready to try it in colder weather. It cradles the hammock and me perfectly and allows you to move and change positions while sleeping and it stays in place. I think it’ll work great on the ground as well

Awesome product, amazing find!
I took a solo trip to the Grand Canyon this past October and was met with some unexpectedly cold weather (single digits at night). It was my first time attempting to hammock camp in temperatures that cold and I was genuinely not prepared for it. I had packed for 60 degree weather but the warmest it got the entire trip was 34 degrees. I do not exaggerate when I say this sleeping bag SAVED THE TRIP!! I may have had to wear my pajamas for 4 days straight (aka the only long sleeve shirt and warmest pair of pants I brought) but I was warm and cozy every night because of the quality of this bag. The design is awesome and traps your body heat in while still allowing for plenty of room to move around. The price is seriously unbeatable and the customer service from Hyke and Byke is amazing!
I have now bought two products from them and have been so impressed with the quality and attention to detail. I will be back for more! Keep up the good work guys:)

Warmest you’ll ever be in a hammock
I’ve tried multiple underquilts and top quilts. I’ve tried 9 different hammocks. I finally feel like I’ve found the right gear for cold weather hammock camping. My last trip got down to 17 degrees and I stayed toasty warm. I slept in my underwear and woke up hot. In the morning I didn’t want to get up because I was so warm and toasty. My friends were all up early every morning because they were cold all night. Sucks to be them!
If you love hammock camping and you want to do it in the cold, this is as good as it gets and you can’t beat the price.
Pro tip: throw a few hand warmers in the bottom on a cold night. You will be warmer than you thought possible.

Still a great product but not all goose down.
My most recent Hyke and Byke purchase was the Antero 0°F hammock bag. I already had an Antero 15°F and wanted to hang out in a little colder weather. But when comparing the Antero 0°F to my older Eolus 0°F from a few years ago I noticed the down bags are starting to gain some weight. Specifically, my old Eolus weighs 2.88 lb in the stuff sack. The current model Eolus lists at 3.20 lb on the website. I'm assuming this is from the addition of the Allied LofTech base insulation to the goose down.
When I shook out the new Antero 0°F bag I was expecting the same, impressive loft as my older Eolus 0°F -- Seriously, that thing looks like it is going to bust at the seams. But I was a little disappointed that the 0°F Antero didn't fill out much more than the 15°F Antero.
I still think this is the most bang for the buck bag and will probably be glad for the additional water resistance the synthetic insulation offers as I take out my new 0°F Antero for a cold, wet trip this weekend.
I think the addition of (or switch to) shock cord for the drawstrings would be an improvement to keep the bag from dropping to the center of the hammock when unoccupied and make it easier to enter.
Happy hiking!

Great idea but...
The idea is great but there are a fe issues. The video shows a hammock almost horizontally to the ground. A hammock should be hung at 30 degrees. My hammock is 11ft long and if hung correctly obviously much longer than the sleeping bag. The cinch straps at each end won’t hold the sleeping bag in place and it will sink to the ground when you get up. I ended up stealing a couple of elastic hair ties from my wife and extended the strings so that I can attach them to the ends of my hammock. Aside from this design flaw the sleeping bag is great and plenty warm. I do run it through the dryer with no heat once in a while to fluff it up. This is my second sleeping bag from Hyke and Byke and I also have a two person tent. I highly recommend all of their products. They are economical, comfortable, lightweight and easy to carry in as little as a 50 liter backpack with gear for several days.

Not that good
The bag is missing alot of filling in the back so you're going to have the dreaded cold butt syndrome, they say that you can move the down to the back but you can't because the top and bottom (front and back) are seperated to keep the down loft on top (front) and the "Allied’s revolutionary LofTech Summit (whatever that is) on bottom (back) where down isn’t necessary" another thing that sucks is that your hammock has to be really tight so you don't compress what little insulation there is, if you try to use this bag the way you would normally hang your hammock then your butt completely compresses the fill and if you're hammock is really tight then it's impossible to lay on an angle and you will be stuck sleeping like a banana and end up hypertending your knees and that really sucks when you have miles to hike the next day. It seemed like a good idea but it's a total fail. Another thing that sucks about this bag is that the draw strings aren't shock cord, without shock cord everytime you move the draw strings loosen and it's a pain in the a$$ to keep getting up to retighten them over and over all night. Another thing is the bag should have something that covers the zipper pulls (like a velcro flap like the eolus 0 degree bag) because the zipper pulls are really annoying rubbing on your chin and neck all night and it would help keep the zipper from coming unzipped. I'm sure the good reviews are from people that have no idea how to properly hang and lay in a hammock.

My first down bag and first to fit in my backpack...
Recently purchased an Antero 0 degree hammock compatible bag & had the opportunity to use it last week. Although the group I climbed with were in lodges I couldn't resist hanging the evening before our ascent of South Elbert via Black Cloud Creek. I was at 9700' w/ high winds & an evening thunderstorm. The bag did not disappoint, I was toasty warm w/ temperatures in the upper 30's to lower 40's. The only time I was chilly was when nature called due to hydration. The combination under/over quilt for the hammock plus the ability to go to the ground if needed was exactly what I was looking for & the Antero bag performed exceptional. The following night I stayed in the cabin w/ my group & once again I can attest how warm the bag was, the heat from the gas fireplace went out in the middle of the night. The other's woke up chilled but I, once again, was toasty warm. Side note, I'm 6'6" and had more than enough room in the long I purchased. Great product & I will definitely recommend to others.

antero 0 degree sleeping bag
Field tested (hammock) 1/25/19 at 15 F camped out all night. The bag had to be partially unzipped to hot at 15F. I believe this bag will be comfortable down to 0 F or lower. I'm not sure about the durability of the 400T 20D nylon or I would have given 5 stars. Very light and packable.! Mike

Great Bag. Great Value.
Full disclosure, I have yet to fully test the temperature rating; however, I did try it out with my hammock in November when it got down to ~30 and actually had to leave it slightly unzipped because I was too toasty. Can’t wait to further test this bag and am excited to test its versatility on the ground as well. Stellar product!
